Nairobi, Kenya … Africa Digital Media Institute (ADMI) has entered into a strategic partnership with Multimedia University of Kenya (MMU) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening creative arts, digital media, and artificial intelligence (AI) training for students and educators.

The partnership, formalised on 27th June 2025, positions both institutions to collaborate on industry-aligned capacity building initiatives that equip learners with future-ready skills across film, multimedia, technology, and business disciplines.

The collaboration focuses on joint training programmes, faculty exchange initiatives, co-location of selected activities, and resource sharing, all designed to support digital transformation and enhance practical learning outcomes. Through this partnership, ADMI and MMU seek to expand access to relevant, hands-on education that responds to the evolving needs of Kenya’s creative and digital media ecosystem.

ADMI was represented at the signing ceremony by its Head of School, Ms. Carolyne Sila, who reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to building strong institutional partnerships that develop industry-ready talent and broaden opportunities for creators across the country.

The signing ceremony brought together senior leadership from Multimedia University of Kenya, including the Chairperson of the University Council, Dr. Albert Kochei; Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration, Finance & Planning), Prof. Geoffrey Rurimo; Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs, Research & Innovation), Prof. Livingstone Ngoo; Director of Research & Innovation, Dr. David Wekesa; and the Dean of the Faculty of Media & Communication, Dr. Isack Mutunga, among others.

As one of the first collaborative initiatives under the partnership, ADMI and MMU will host a free AI for Educators Training aimed at empowering educators with practical AI knowledge and tools to support teaching and learning.

The training will take place on 15th July 2025 at the MMU Conference Hall from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and is open to educators interested in integrating AI into their professional practice.

This partnership marks a significant step forward in strengthening Kenya’s creative and digital media pipeline and expanding access to industry-relevant, future-ready skills. ADMI and Multimedia University of Kenya look forward to impactful collaboration that supports learners, educators, and the broader creative economy.
